Admin Guide - Adding Custom Fields to Salesforce Tasks

    Inspire Planner provides you with the ability to display fields as columns within the Salesforce Tasks Section displayed in the window when Assigning Tasks and when Listing All Salesforce Tasks (see images below).

     

    When Assigning Tasks

    You are able to display fields as columns within the Salesforce Tasks section when assigning tasks to resources.

     

     

    When viewing All Salesforce Tasks using the List All Salesforce Tasks icon within the Project Toolbar

    You are able to display fields as columns when viewing All Salesforce Tasks via the List All Salesforce Tasks icon within the Project Toolbar.

     


    This help article will walk you through how to display fields as columns within the Salesforce Tasks Section.

     

     

    In Salesforce Lightning

    This section will provide you steps for Salesforce Lightning environment.

     

    1. Click on the Gear icon at the top right corner and go to Setup.


       
    2. Go to Object Manager. Scroll through the list of Objects until you find Task and click on it.


       
    3. Click on Field Sets in the menu on the left. Then look for Inspire Planner Fields, click on the dropdown arrow to the right and click on Edit.


       
    4. Drag the field(s) on to the section labeled "In the Field Set" and click on Save. All the fields you add to the field set will then be displayed as columns in the Salesforce Tasks Section.

     

    In Salesforce Classic

    This section will provide you steps for Salesforce Classic environment.

     

    1. Click on the dropdown arrow beside your username at the top right corner and go to Setup.


       
    2. Enter "Task" in the Quick Find box and click on Task Field Sets.


       
    3. Click on Edit beside Inspire Planner Fields.


       
    4. Drag the field(s) on to the section labeled "In the Field Set" and click on Save. All the fields you add to the field set will then be displayed as columns in the Salesforce Tasks Section.
