Configuring Project Team Hourly Rate

    Inspire Planner allows you to specify the Resource's Hourly Rate when the Resource is added as a Project Team member on the Project. This is ideal when you need to be able to define a Resource's rate specific to a Project.

     

    This help article will walk you through the configurations needed to use Hourly Rate in Project Teams.
     

     

    Set Field-level Security to Visible for Hourly Rate

    The first step is to set the field-level security for the Hourly Rate field to visible so that all Inspire Planner users have access to the field.

     

    1. Click on the Gear Icon at the top right corner and go to Setup.


       
    2. Go to Object Manager.


       
    3. Enter "Project Team" in the Quick Find box at the top right corner and click on Project Team.


       
    4. Go to Fields & Relationships.


       
    5. Click on Hourly Rate.


       
    6. Click on Set Field-level Security.


       
    7. Set it to "Visible" for all user profiles and click on Save.


       

    Add Hourly Rate to Project Team Page Layout

    Now that the field-level security has been set to visible, you will need to add the Hourly Rate field to the Project Team page layout so that users can view and populate values.

     

    1. While still in the Project Team object, click on Page Layouts in the menu on the left.


       
    2. Click on the page layout you are currently using.


       
    3. From the list of Fields, drag the Hourly Rate field to your desired area on the page. Then click on Save.  


       

    Add Hourly Rate as a Column in Project Team Related List in Project Object

    To make it easier for users to see the Hourly Rate associated with a Project Team member, it would be best to also add Hourly Rate as a column in the Project Team related list in the Project Object.

     

    1. In Object Manager, enter "Project" in the Quick Find box at the top right corner and click on Project.


       
    2. Go to Page Layouts.


       
    3. Click on the page layout you are currently using.


       
    4. Click on Related Lists.


       
    5. Click on the Wrench icon in the Related List for Project Teams.


       
    6. Select Hourly Rate from the list of available fields on the left and add it. You can use the up and down arrows to re-order the fields according to your preference. Click on OK when finished.


       
    7. Finally, click on Save.
