    In our February 2024 release, we are thrilled to introduce the General Availability (GA) of the Gantt Lightning Web Component (LWC), marking a pivotal advancement in our dedication to modern, efficient, and Salesforce-aligned web technologies. To reflect our ongoing investment in LWC development, and in anticipation of gradually phasing out legacy Visualforce (VF) components, we are reorganizing our release notes to prioritize updates related to Lightning Web Components. This change underscores the importance of LWC in our future development strategies, ensuring that our offerings are closely aligned with the latest Salesforce advancements.

    However, it's important to note that the transition from VF to LWC will not be abrupt. We do not have a definitive timeline for phasing out legacy VF components at this moment, and the feature will not be automatically enabled. Rest assured, we are committed to supporting you through this migration period and beyond, ensuring a seamless transition.

    We recognize the importance of a smooth transition to new technologies for your organization and are fully prepared to support you on this journey. Detailed guidance on planning your migration to Gantt LWC will be provided. In the interim, we encourage you to begin experimenting with this new feature in your sandbox environments in the creation of new projects to get acquainted with its capabilities and the advantages it offers. It's also worth mentioning that certain functionality, such as Automatic Mode, is not available in the current release but will be supported in future updates, with timeline TBD.

    IP-198 Project - Gantt Lightning Web Component (LWC) This is an upgrade of our existing Project Gantt from a Visualforce component to a Lightning Web Component (LWC) aligning it with the current Salesforce platform architecture and programming language.     Project - Timezone Assignment Issues - released as part of Feb 2024 (1.353) Patch

     

    Due to customer feedback, we have reverted this change to timezone assignment. If the user timezone does not exist in the Inspire Planner Timezone picklist, it will result in an error prompting you to add the missing value in the picklist.

    		 We've made adjustments to the timezone assignment logic so that if the user timezone does not exist in the Inspire Planner Timezone picklist, it will default to the org timezone. If both the user timezone and org timezone do not exist, it will default to Central Time (Chicago).

    Legacy Components and Other Items

    This section provides updates on our legacy components, including Gantt Visualforce, Portfolio Visualforce, and Resource Allocation, in addition to detailing enhancements and fixes across various aspects of Inspire Planner like Inspire Planner System Jobs and the External Project Portal. While we continue to support these legacy components, we want to highlight our strategic shift towards prioritizing development on Lightning Web Components (LWC). This move is in line with our goal to harness the latest Salesforce technologies for delivering solutions that are not only more efficient and scalable but also rich in features. We encourage our users to start considering the transition to LWC-based components, to fully benefit from the continuous innovations within Inspire Planner.

    IP-498 Project - Auto Assign Mode Users are able to automatically assign tasks to resources using Project Teams and roles. With this new feature, users can now specify when the task assignment takes place - immediately, on demand, or when the task is ready to start.
