Salesforce Task View Lightning Web Component (LWC) - An Overview

Last Modified On: December 17, 2024

The Salesforce Task View Lightning component provides users with the ability to see and toggle between All Salesforce Tasks, My Salesforce Tasks and All Overdue Tasks. This component can be added to any Lightning page such as a homepage or the project Lightning record page.

When this component is added to a Lightning page such as a homepage, it will display the following:

    • All Salesforce Tasks - the component will show all Salesforce Tasks related to Projects that you have access to, regardless of whether the Salesforce Task is assigned to you personally. It will include Tasks where the Inspire Task field is not blank and where you have access to the related Project.

    • My Salesforce Tasks - will include all Salesforce Tasks assigned to the viewing user. This will also only display Salesforce Tasks related to Projects.

    • All Overdue Tasks - will include all Salesforce Tasks that are overdue. Similar to the "All Salesforce Tasks" tab in this component, you will see all overdue Salesforce Tasks related to Projects you have access to, even if the Salesforce Task is not assigned to you personally.

When this component is added to the project Lightning record page, it only displays Salesforce Tasks related to the project. This provides Project Managers a quick and easy way to see and navigate to the related Salesforce Tasks.

For complete instructions on how to enable this feature, please see Admin Guide - Lightning Component - Salesforce Task View.

    Searching for Tasks

You can search for tasks in the Salesforce Task View LWC using the search box in the top right corner. You can enter any of the following in the search box:

    • Task Subject
    • Resource Name
    • Priority
    • Status

Then, press the "enter" or "return" key on your keyboard. The component will return tasks that contain the value you entered within the search box.

In the example below, if we enter "Michael" in the search box and press enter, it returns all tasks where the resource name includes "Michael".
