The Project Dashboard provides a visual, read-only executive summary directly on the Project Lightning record page, giving project managers a quick view of overall project health without navigating to reports.

    Features include:

    • KPI Summary Tiles – Highlights key project metrics at a glance, including project status, duration, progress, start date, finish date, and days overdue.
    • Task Breakdown – Provides a visual breakdown of tasks by status using a stacked horizontal bar chart.
    • Health Overview – Summarizes active tasks by health category (On Time, At Risk, and Late) with a proportional distribution chart.
    • Project Timeline – Presents a visual timeline of project phases and deliverables, including progress indicators, a current date marker, and task tooltips with quick links to task records.
    • In Progress Tasks – Displays a focused timeline of active tasks with progress indicators and highlights overdue work.
    • Milestones – Lists project milestones by due date, showing status, days remaining or overdue, and quick links to milestone records.
    • Overdue Tasks – Identifies overdue tasks with due dates, assigned team members, and configurable display limits.
    • Upcoming Tasks – Displays upcoming tasks in due date order, including assigned resources and remaining time until due.
    • Risks & Issues – Shows open risks and issues with priority indicators, descriptions, and configurable display limits.
    • Team Workload – Summarizes project team members, their assigned roles, task counts, and overdue tasks to help identify workload distribution.

    Additional capabilities:

    • Automatically loads when the Project record is opened.
    • Includes a Refresh button to reload the latest project data.
    • Supports a vertically scrollable layout for easy navigation.
    • Individual dashboard panels can be shown or hidden using Lightning App Builder.
    • Uses native Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) styling for a consistent Lightning Experience.

    Please note:

    • You must be a Salesforce System Administrator to complete the steps outlined in this help article as it requires access to Salesforce setup.
    • This feature will be available with the Inspire Planner JUL 2026 Major Release available in Production environments on August 11, 2026.

Add the Project Dashboard to your Lightning Record Page

Follow these steps to add the Project Dashboard to your Project Lightning record page.

    1. Click on the Gear Icon in the top right corner and go to Setup.

    2. Navigate to Object Manager.

    3. Enter "Project" in the search box and click on Project.

    4. Go to Lightning Record Pages and click on the Lightning record page you are using. The image below is just an example.

    5. Click on Edit.

      Please note:
If you’re using the standard Inspire Planner Lightning record page, you’ll need to clone it before making any changes. Edit the cloned Lightning record page rather than the standard page.

    6. Click on the page to select it. Then, click Add Tab in the right panel.

    7. A new Details tab is added. Select the tab, set Tab Label to Custom, and enter Dashboard (or your preferred label) in the Custom Label field. Click Done to save your changes.

    8. Drag the new Dashboard tab to the desired position in the tabs list on the right.

    9. Next, click the new Dashboard Tab on the page.

    10. From the Components panel, expand Custom – Managed, then drag the Inspire - Project Dashboard component onto the Dashboard tab.

      Click Save when finished.

    Customize the Project Dashboard

Configure the Project Dashboard using the properties available in the right-hand panel.

Select or clear each option to show or hide individual dashboard panels. You can also configure the maximum number of Overdue Tasks, Upcoming Tasks, and Risks & Issues displayed on the dashboard.

Click Save when you have finished configuring the dashboard properties. If you have not already done so, be sure to activate the Lightning record page so the Project Dashboard is available to users.

    Customize Health Indicators

The Project Health Indicators panel is driven by a field set, allowing administrators to control which health dimensions are displayed without making code changes.

By default, the field set includes the following health indicators:

    • Overall Project Health
    • Budget
    • Schedule
    • Resources
    • Scope
    • Risks
    • Issues

You can add, remove, or reorder fields in this field set to customize the health indicators displayed on the Project Dashboard.

    Please note:

The Project Health Matrix in the Portfolio Dashboard also uses this same field set. As a result, any changes made to the field set will be reflected in both the Project Dashboard and the Portfolio Dashboard Health Matrix.

    1. In the Project object, navigate to Field Sets.

    2. Click Project Dashboard KPI Panel.

    3. By default, all available health indicators are included in the field set. You can customize the Project Dashboard by adding, removing, or reordering fields in the In the Field Set box. To remove a health indicator, simply drag the field out of the field set.

      Click Save when finished.
