    Given the scope of this release, we're extending the customer Sandbox validation period before the Production deployment to provide additional time for testing and validation.

     

    Inspire Planner - External Project Portal 2.0 Rollout:

    Inspire Planner - External Portal 2.0 follows a different rollout schedule than your Salesforce package. See IP-1169 below for important rollout details.

    GLWC-741 Project - Project Dashboard 

    The new Project Dashboard provides a visual, read-only executive summary directly on the Project Lightning record page, giving project managers a quick view of overall project health without navigating to reports.

    Features include:

    • GLWC-746 - Project Health Indicators – Displays colour-coded health indicators for each project health dimension configured by your administrator.
    • GLWC-743 - KPI Summary Tiles – Highlights key project metrics at a glance, including project status, duration, progress, start date, finish date, and days overdue.
    • GLWC-745 - Task Breakdown – Provides a visual breakdown of tasks by status using a stacked horizontal bar chart.
    • GLWC-744 - Health Overview – Summarizes active tasks by health category (On Time, At Risk, and Late) with a proportional distribution chart.
    • GLWC-747 - Project Timeline – Presents a visual timeline of project phases and deliverables, including progress indicators, a current date marker, and task tooltips with quick links to task records.
    • GLWC-748 - In Progress Tasks – Displays a focused timeline of active tasks with progress indicators and highlights overdue work.
    • GLWC-749 - Milestones – Lists project milestones by due date, showing status, days remaining or overdue, and quick links to milestone records.
    • GLWC-750 - Overdue Tasks – Identifies overdue tasks with due dates, assigned team members, and configurable display limits.
    • GLWC-750 - Upcoming Tasks – Displays upcoming tasks in due date order, including assigned resources and remaining time until due.
    • GLWC-751 - Risks & Issues – Shows open risks and issues with priority indicators, descriptions, and configurable display limits.
    • GLWC-752 - Team Workload – Summarizes project team members, their assigned roles, task counts, and overdue tasks to help identify workload distribution.

    Additional capabilities:

    • Automatically loads when the Project record is opened.
    • Includes a Refresh button to reload the latest project data.
    • Supports a vertically scrollable layout for easy navigation.
    • Individual dashboard panels can be shown or hidden using Lightning App Builder.
    • Uses native Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) styling for a consistent Lightning Experience.

    GLWC-755 Portfolio LWC - Portfolio Dashboard 

    The new Portfolio Dashboard provides a visual, read-only executive summary directly on the Portfolio Lightning record page, enabling portfolio managers to monitor the health of all projects from a single view.

    Features include:

    • GLWC-800 -Portfolio Summary – Displays key portfolio KPIs, including total projects, project health distribution (On Track, At Risk, Off Track), completed projects, and overall budget utilization.
    • GLWC-801 - Health Matrix – Provides a visual heat map of project health across multiple dimensions, such as overall health, budget, schedule, resources, scope, risks, and issues, helping identify projects that require attention.
    • GLWC-802 - Portfolio Roadmap – Displays a timeline of all projects, showing project duration, progress, health status, and schedule alignment across the portfolio.
    • GLWC-803 - Projects Needing Attention – Highlights projects that are At Risk or Off Track, including progress, budget status, and open risk counts to help prioritize action.
    • GLWC-804 - Upcoming Milestones – Provides a cross-project view of upcoming and overdue milestones, sorted by urgency.
    • GLWC-805 - Budget Overview – Compares planned and actual spending for each project using visual progress bars and portfolio-level budget totals.
    • GLWC-806 - Effort Overview – Compares planned versus actual labour hours across projects to help monitor resource effort and utilization.
    • GLWC-807- Portfolio Risks – Consolidates open risks and issues from all projects, displaying priority, ownership, project association, and risk type.
    • GLWC-808 - Resource Allocation – Summarizes team members assigned across the portfolio, highlighting project assignments, project health distribution, and individuals supporting multiple at-risk projects.

    Additional capabilities:

    IP-1221 Task Console - Enhancements 

    Task Console has been significantly enhanced with new ways to visualize and manage work, improved performance, expanded customization, and a modernized user experience. In addition to the existing grid, users can now seamlessly switch between Grid, Kanban Board, and Calendar views while working from the same dataset. 

     

    Enhancements include:

    • IP-1223 - Added Kanban Board and Calendar views alongside the existing Grid view, with seamless switching between views.
    • IP-1241 - Introduced a modernized user interface with enhanced status indicators, owner avatars, improved subject links, and alternating row styling.
    • IP-1226 - Added a drag-and-drop Kanban Board grouped by Status, Priority, Health, or Due Date.
    • IP-1230 and IP-1231 - Added Month and Agenda Calendar views with color-coded tasks displayed by due date.
    • IP-1227 - Unified all views to use a single shared dataset, ensuring consistent task counts and data across Grid, Board, and Calendar.
    • IP-1229 - Introduced server-side calculated KPI Summary cards for accurate counts regardless of dataset size, with support for multi-select filtering.
    • IP-1233 - Enhanced grouping with improved visuals, additional Related To grouping, and instant regrouping without reloading data.
    • IP-1240 - Improved the Related To column with object icons and direct links to related Salesforce records.
    • IP-1237 - Expanded user preference persistence to remember the selected view, filters, grouping, hide completed setting, and calendar mode.
    • IP-1238 - Integrated Log Time directly into Task Console for faster time entry from both Grid and Kanban views.
    • Improved synchronization between Status and % Complete so updates remain consistent automatically.
    • Added full support for custom task statuses across KPIs, grouping, filtering, hide completed, and inline editing.

    IP-1169 Inspire Planner - External Portal 2.0 

    This release introduces new enhancements to the Inspire Planner External Portal, expanding how external collaborators such as clients, contractors, and partners can engage with project work. 

    These enhancements further improve external collaboration, task management, and cross-project visibility through a streamlined and intuitive web-based experience.

    Included with Inspire Planner (manual enablement required):

    • IP-1098 - My Tasks (Unified Task View) - Offers a single view of all tasks assigned across projects, with inline updates and status tracking.
    • User Experience Improvements - Introduces a simplified navigation structure and consistent grid-based interface across the portal.

     

    Additional Premium+ Features:

    • IP-1102 - Task Chat - Enables task-based communication between external users and internal teams, integrated with Salesforce Chatter.
    • IP-1101 - Additional Object Tabs - Displays custom project-related records such as risks and change requests in read-only tab views.
    • IP-1106 - Checklist Items Support - Enables users to view and track checklist items within assigned tasks to support detailed task execution tracking.

     

    Important – Inspire Planner - External Portal 2.0 Rollout Inspire Planner - External Portal 2.0 is hosted in a shared environment and is updated for all customers simultaneously.

    Unlike your Salesforce managed package upgrade, Inspire Planner - External Portal 2.0 cannot be upgraded individually for each organization.

    Inspire Planner - External Portal 2.0 will be deployed for all customers on August 10, 2026 and available beginning August 11, 2026, regardless of your organization's Salesforce managed package upgrade schedule.

    Premium+ customers may continue scheduling their Salesforce managed package upgrade through August 31, 2026. However, Inspire Planner - External Portal 2.0 will already be running the new version beginning August 11 for all customers.

    To help customers prepare, we'll publish a preview video demonstrating the new experience in the Help Center by July 13, 2026.

    IP-1257 Inspire Planner - External Portal Custom Settings 

    New custom settings have been introduced for Inspire Planner - External Portal 2.0, allowing administrators to enable or disable new features. These settings provide greater control over the portal experience by allowing customers to configure which features are available to portal users.

     Manual enablement required. Additional Object Tabs, Task Chat, Checklist Items, and other Premium+ Portal features are not enabled automatically. These features require a Premium+ Success Plan.     IP-1170 Project - Calendar View 

    This release introduces a new Calendar View within the Project Gantt experience, providing users with an alternative way to visualize and manage project schedules. The enhancement allows users to seamlessly switch between Gantt and Calendar views, enabling improved schedule awareness across both tasks and appointments in a unified, time-based format.

    GLWC-809 Gantt & Portfolio LWC - Style Enhancements 

    This release introduces a comprehensive visual refresh of the Inspire Planner Gantt

    The enhancement focuses on improving readability, consistency, and at-a-glance interpretation of project schedules by standardising colours, layout density, and interaction behaviour across task bars, milestones, grid elements, and navigation controls.

    Key improvements include a new status-driven visual system for task bars and milestones, and enhanced visual cues such as live status-based icon updates, critical path highlighting, and improved dependency styling. The toolbar and header areas have also been redesigned for a more compact, modern layout using a consistent icon system.

    Overall, this restyle delivers a more cohesive and intuitive scheduling experience, ensuring that users can interpret project status, progress, and critical work faster and more consistently across the platform.

    IP-625 Project - Enhanced Project Template Copying 

    Creating a project from a template now includes the ability to copy related records associated with the template project. This includes standard Inspire Planner records, such as Risks, Issues, and Change Requests, as well as customer-specific custom object records that have a relationship to the Project.
     

    This enhancement provides a more complete project setup experience by allowing important project information and related records to be carried forward when creating projects from templates, while also supporting customer-specific extensions.

    Added the ability to move a sprint and all of its associated user stories from one Agile project to another. This simplifies managing active work when closing or completing Agile projects.

    GLWC-701 Project - Ability to Grey out Print / Export button 

    Added the ability to disable the Print and Export buttons, allowing administrators to prevent users from printing or exporting project data when required.

    IP-619 Resource LWC - Add Contact Filter 

    Added an optional resource filter to improve performance and simplify resource selection in organizations with large numbers of Contact records. When the new Enable Resource Filter setting is enabled, Inspire Planner only displays Contacts marked as Inspire Planner Resource in resource-related searches and lookups, including Resource Utilization, Resources, Attributes, task assignments, and project collaborators.

    GLWC-827 Project - Automatic Mode - SNET Constraint set automatically with incorrect Time 

    Resolved an issue where, in Automatic scheduling mode, a Project Task constraint was incorrectly set four hours after the Start Date. This could result in unexpected changes to the task Duration and other schedule-related fields. The constraint is now applied using the correct date and time, ensuring task schedules remain accurate.

    RT-174 Project - Copy/Paste - Actual Effort and Actual Cost are copied when copying and pasting 

    Resolved an issue where the Actual Effort and Actual Cost values were copied when Project Tasks were copied and pasted. Since these values are specific to the original task, they are no longer carried over to the newly created task.

    IP-1191 Task Console - Grouping Logic Has Inconsistencies 

    Improved grouping behavior in the Task Console by resolving issues that could cause task rows or task icons (Chatter, Time Log, and Checklist) to disappear after regrouping, and preventing tasks from appearing multiple times across different pages.

    RT-57 Resource LWC - Forecast Tab - Resource Forecasting Role Lookup Issue

    RT-166 Resource LWC - Task Appointment Scheduler Icons Are Not Displaying Correctly 

    Resolved an issue where icons in the Booking Appointments component were not displayed correctly when opened from a Project Task. Instead of the expected icons, white squares were shown. Icons now render correctly in the Booking Appointments interface.

    This section provides updates on our legacy components, including Gantt Visualforce, Portfolio Visualforce, and Resource Allocation, in addition to detailing enhancements and fixes across various aspects of Inspire Planner like Inspire Planner System Jobs and the External Project Portal. While we continue to support these legacy components, we want to highlight our strategic shift towards prioritizing development on Lightning Web Components (LWC). This move is in line with our goal to harness the latest Salesforce technologies for delivering solutions that are not only more efficient and scalable but also rich in features. We encourage our users to start considering the transition to LWC-based components, to fully benefit from the continuous innovations within Inspire Planner.
